Equities seasonality
Every month (or quarter) of global equities, tracked by MSCI World, as a green or red tile, with how often each one has closed higher in past years. Switch to the S&P 500 above the grid. A record of what happened, not a forecast. Research tool only — not financial advice (NFA).
Monthly returns · MSCI World
Each tile is the month's % change: close on its last trading day vs the close on the previous month's last trading day (New York trading days). Odds = share of completed years in which that month closed higher; averages and medians are simple, unweighted. Hover or tap a tile for the exact dates and closes.
Source: Yahoo Finance URTH daily close — the iShares MSCI World ETF, used as a stand-in because MSCI index data can't be republished. Price only (distributions excluded, after ETF fees), so it runs slightly under the index's total return. URTH history starts Jan 2012.
